On underside of coin jar: [1] “CG”, impressed (maker’s mark) [2] tower with a "c", impressed (standard mark, Hamburg, Germany)* * Hamburg’s assay masters included letters to identify themselves. The “c” for Friedrich Christoph Greve (active 1829–1854)
