This is a Drawing. It was created by Jan van der Straet, called Stradanus. It is dated 1595 or before and we acquired it in 1947. Its medium is recto: pen and brown ink, brush and brown and black washes over black chalk, with corrections by the artist in white opaque paint on laid paper verso: pen and brown ink on laid paper . It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

Binding Evidence: Twelve irregularly spaced stitching holes run along the bottom edge of the sheet.
