Wall Pocket, 17th century
This is a Wall pocket. It is dated 17th century and we acquired it in 1950. Its medium is silk, metal and its technique is embroidery on rust-red silk satin. stem, satin and knot stitches using dyed silks; couched gold-wrapped silk and strips of silver foil; plus attached silver spangles. It is a part of the Textiles department.
		
									It is credited Gift of Richard C. Greenleaf Esq. in memory of his mother, Adeline Emma Greenleaf.
